On Monday, August 24, Russell and Freelance Photojournalist John Guthery deployed to cover the landfall of Hurricane Laura.
The team loaded up and headed south to Houston, Texas.
Russell and Guthery spent four nights in Houston and Baytown, Texas covering the western edge of the storm preparations.
After Hurricane Laura devastated portions of East Texas and Western Louisiana, the team covered the damage in Orange, Texas and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Our team was responsible for providing real-time reporting, live coverage and digital content for the weather network.
